We present to you the second collection of Solfeggio by Davor Zanoški and Zlata Životić, published by Školska knjiga.

This interactive collection of Solfeggio tasks is intended for students in the third and fourth grade of elementary music school, students of the first preparatory grade of music school for independent work and practice, and Solfeggio teachers as additional teaching content that can be applied in regular solfeggio lessons. Solfeggio.
The collection follows the Curriculum for elementary music and elementary dance schools, and has two parts.

In the first part, there are theoretical, auditory and intonation tasks with initial instructions on how to approach individual tasks. In the chapters Intervali i Kvintakordi the tasks are separated for students of the third and fourth grades according to their level of knowledge. To make it easier to navigate, the tasks for third-grade students are marked in green, and for fourth-grade students in purple. The other chapters are suitable for practice by third and fourth graders.

In the second part, there are worksheets intended for students who want to learn more, but also have fun at the same time. They can be used in regular classes and as preparation for the Sonus International Competition of Young Musicians (discipline solfeggio1.st Category).

The collection is interactive - it contains 115 recorded examples for aural training so that every student can practice at home, and teachers have prepared materials for auditory recognition and riddles (dictations) that can be applied in a regular SolfeggioThe recordings can be accessed by scanning the code using a smartphone.
At the end of each part, solutions are written as feedback to students, which is a valuable teaching material for teachers.

We present the first publication of the Opus Music Association, a collection of Solfeggio examples by Davor Zanoški and Zlata Životić.

The collection can be used as preparation for participation in the Sonus Competition, but also as an aid in regular classes. It is intended for first and second grade students of elementary music schools and corresponds to the Curriculum for elementary music schools. It contains ten written and ten oral worksheets, and at the end of it there are dictations, which supplement the written part. These worksheets form a rounded ensemble that will make it easier for students to master the problems of theoretical, auditory, creative and intonational aspects and offer teachers a better insight into the level provided by the Competition propositions.

About the Competition

Another specific detail about this competition is that this is the first competition in Croatia where the young musicians of the primary school age also compete in the discipline of percussions. The disciplines piano, solfeggio and percussions are represented every year, whereas all the other instrumental disciplines alternate every two years.

Međunarodno natjecanje mladih glazbenika Sonus od 2018. godine uvršteno je u program gradskih manifestacija Grada čime je Grad Križevci postao ponosni pokrovitelj Natjecanja.

Since 2019, the Competition has been held under the auspices of the Ministry of Science and Education.

History of the Competition

The first Young musicians competition Sonus op.1. was held in February 2015 in guitar, piano, solfeggio and tambura discipline, the second Sonus op.2 competition included disciplines in accordion, piano, solfeggio, percussions and violin.

Since the competition is getting bigger every year, Sonus op.3 has become an international competition in 2017 with disciplines in flute, piano, solfeggio, tambura and percussions. In addition to Croatian members of the judging panel, there are also foreign music pedagogues

On Sonus op.4 competition we added another, sixth instrumental discipline, the category for the contestants between 17 and 25 years of age, which has two stages like the fifth category. The Competition included disciplines in accordian, piano, percussions and solfeggio, with 256 competitors.

The fifth edition of the Competition in 2019 was held under the auspices of the Ministry of Science and Education. In the four disciplines of piano, solfeggio, tambura and percussion, 344 competitors from Croatia and abroad competed, which made the fifth edition of the Competition the largest so far.

Sonus op.6 was held in 2021 in the disciplines of piano, solfeggio, tambura, violin and percussion with 254 participants.

Sonus op.7 was held in March 2023, where 355 competitors performed in the disciplines of piano, percussion, tambura, violin and solfeggio .

392 natjecatelja sudjelovala su na Sonus natjecanju koje se održavalo u proljeće 2024. godine. Discipline zastupljene na osmom izdanju natjecanja: gitara, klavir, tambure, solfeggio, udaraljke i violina.

Since 2019, the Competition has been held under the auspices of the Ministry of Science and Education.

The Music Association Opus, Križevci Tamburitza Orchestra and Albert Štriga Music School Križevci organized the first International Chamber Music and Orchestra Festival Sonus, which took place in April 2024 in Križevci. A total of 24 ensembles participated in the disciplines of small chamber ensembles (duo and trio), small chamber ensembles (quartet and quintet), large chamber ensembles, and orchestras. A unique feature of the Festival is that the competitive segment is open to amateur ensembles and orchestras affiliated with associations, not just schools. In addition to the competitive part of the Festival, participants also had the opportunity to perform for the audience at gala concerts in the town squares of Križevci. The Concerts under the stars, held in front of the Križevci Cosmological Center, attracted a large audience. The festival orchestra, consisting of members of the Križevci Tamburitza Orchestra and the Križevci City Wind Orchestra, along with guest performers, presented a program that included classical pieces, film music, and timeless pop and rock hits.
