Miro Saje, born in 1965 in Novo Mesto, Slovenia, graduated in trumpet from the Academy of Music in Ljubljana in 1990 under the guidance of Professor Anton Grčar.
At the age of 13, he joined the Wind Orchestra Novoles Straža, later renamed the Wind Orchestra Krka, where he served as a conductor from 1990 to 2007. In 1999, he completed his studies under the instruction of Professor Jan Cober at the Brabants Conservatory in Tilburg, the Netherlands.
Throughout his career, Miro Saje has achieved notable success as a conductor. In 1995, 1997, and 1999, he was honored as the best conductor at the International Competition of Wind Orchestras in Riva del Garda, Italy. In 2006, he secured the third place at the International Conductors' Competition in Vienna.
In addition to his conducting career, he is actively involved in teaching brass instruments at the Music School in Novo Mesto, where he also leads the youth wind orchestra. He serves as the conductor of the newly established Slovenian Youth Wind Orchestra.
Since 2001, Miro Saje has been a guest conductor with the Orchestra of the Slovenian Police, and he occasionally collaborates with the Slovenian Clarinet Orchestra. In 2004, he recorded his first CD for the Belgian foundation Beriato Rundfunk Blasorchester Leipzig.
Under his leadership, the Wind Orchestra Krka has gained international acclaim. At the World Orchestra Championships in Kerkrade, the Netherlands, in 2005, the orchestra earned a gold recognition with honors. In 2006, they secured first place in the concert category at the national competition.
