
Alida Jakopanec, Senior Advisor and Professor, was born in Zagreb, where she graduated in 1980 from the Academy of Music (Department I-b, Music Theory).
From 1979 to 1982, she worked at the Functional Music School in Zagreb (today the Elly Bašić Music School). From 1982 until her retirement in 2023, she was employed at the Vatroslav Lisinski Music School in Bjelovar as a professor of music theory subjects.
She is the author of several Solfeggioteaching manuals published by the Library of the Croatian Society of Music Theorists, including A Collection of Examples for Solfeggio in Secondary Music Schools (2009; second revised and expanded edition 2014), Two-Part Examples for Solfeggio (2012), and Rhythmic Exercises (2012; second revised and expanded edition 2021). All three manuals have been approved for use in music education as supplementary teaching materials by the Education and Teacher Training Agency.
She has collaborated as a member of professional evaluation committees at the Music Festivities of Croatian Musical Youth of Bjelovar-Bilogora County, and served as a jury member in the solfeggio discipline discipline at the Croatian Competition of Music and Dance Students and at the International Competition of Young Musicians Sonus.
She has been a member of the Croatian Society of Music Theorists since its founding in 1997, and has served as a member of its Executive Board since 2010.
In 2015, she was awarded the Annual Award of the Croatian Association of Music and Dance Pedagogues in recognition of her outstanding professional achievements.
