Tihana Ivanković enrolled in the Franjo Kuhač Music School in Osijek at the age of 13. In 1998, she completed her diploma in piano at the Zagreb Academy of Music, Osijek branch, under the guidance of Associate Professor Damir Sekošan with excellent grades. Since then, she has dedicated herself exclusively to teaching at the Franjo Kuhač Music School in Osijek, and for several years also at elementary music schools in Valpovo and her hometown of Belišće. For a few years, she worked as an external collaborator for piano obbligato at the Academy of Arts and Culture in Osijek and provided mentoring to piano students from the same academy.
From the very beginning of her work with her students, she has regularly participated in national and international competitions where she has won high awards and prepared her students for very significant performances in Osijek, Zagreb, Novi Sad, etc. Many of her students have continued their musical journey and are today very active young teachers throughout the country.
Since the 2020/2021 school year, she has been the head of the Inter-County Professional Council of Piano Teachers in Eastern Croatia and has developed intensive cooperation with other piano experts throughout the country and abroad. In a desire to empower young musicians and their teachers in schools in the surrounding area and eastern Croatia, she started organizing the competitive Inter-County Festival Dolce piano in Belišće in 2017. As the successor of Damir Sekošan's piano school, exactly 100 years after the opening of the first music school in Osijek, together with her enthusiastic colleagues, she initiated the Damir Sekošan Competition for Young Pianists.
Since 2023, she has been involved in the launch and organization of the International Piano School KlavOs. She is a regular member of the organizing committee of the Darko Lukić Memorial in Osijek.
In 2021, the Agency for Education and Education promoted her to the rank of excellent advisor. For two consecutive years, she has received the Ministry of Science, Education and Youth award for the best educational workers.
Of all the competitions and organizations, she still finds the work with a student in a piano classroom the most precious.
